1. How to choose a patch fuse (using well-known brands such as litelfuse bussmann to illustrate the commonly used size of patch fuses 1206 2410 0603)
Chip fuses are mainly used in electronic products such as digital cameras, laptops, and mobile phones.. From traditional glass tube fuses to micro fuses and chip fuses, the focus of their selection is slightly different due to differences in product technology.
The selection of patch fuses involves the following factors:
(1) The normal working current of the circuit. The working current through the fuse should not exceed 75% of the rated current of the fuse.
(2) Pulse, impulse current, surge current, starting current, and circuit transient values. SMD fuses are particularly concerned about this point. Due to the small size of the fuse, the impact resistance of SMD fuses is much lower than that of glass tube fuses or other larger fuses with the same rated current.
(3) The magnitude of the overload current in the circuit and the shortest and longest duration of the overload current existence. Usually, a combination of oscilloscope testing and theoretical calculation is required to determine the magnitude of overload current. The basic requirement for fuses is that they cannot be disconnected when they should not be disconnected (such as when surge current occurs), and must be disconnected within an appropriate time (such as when overload current needs to be disconnected).
(4) Resistance. The resistance of patch fuses has a certain impact on certain circuits: if a fuse with excessive internal resistance is installed in certain circuits, it will affect the system parameters of the circuit, making it unable to function properly.
